GLDI Alumni Gatherings 2009 - Purpose & Goal
PURPOSE:
- To encourage and remind GLDI alumni in sustaining Christ-like leadership by utilizing the unique experiences and visions received from GLDI to serve God’s purpose in our generation.
SHORT TERM GOAL:
- Within one month after commencement of the 2009 class have an alumni reunion for all three classes that last for 2 days in 7 different regions of the US.
To gather alumni by state to get to know one another and be able to support and encourage each other.
ALUMNI REUNION:
- Is a reminder to help us utilize the things we have learned for God’s kingdom
- To use our gifts and talents corporately in serving God
- To prepare graduating class of what to expect during transition period and post-GLDI
- To encourage all GLDI students as they continue to serve God at church,
work, and school. - To refresh post-GLDI and regain the passion to pursue after God’s calling in their life as they continue to serve at church, school, work, etc.
NETWORKING:
- Networking is seen as a means not an end result.
- (The goal is not to give praise to ourselves, but to God in working together)
- It is important as believers to utilize the opportunities/gifts given to them.
- As Christians we are called to work corporately in the church and marketplace.
- To be reminded that we are not called to live solo Christian lives (lone ranger symptom)
- To be able to pray, encourage, bless and help one another
- To be reminded of the special gift of GLDI that God has given to us.
- To be able to exchange knowledge and information for enhancing our strategic positions.
RELATION TO GLDI:
- Quote “GLDI: 40 days of intense, holistic training to develop spirit filled, competent, powerful and transforming ambassadors for changing the nation and the world for Christ.”
- This reunion is a reminder that our experience and the things we have learned doesn’t end at GLDI
- We are reminded that God is the one who calls us to be a part of his plan in being global ambassadors for Christ to a world that is filled with lost people.
- It is a reminder that we are to continue to seek and love those who are lost and ask God to use the training we received to not be afraid to take challenges that God places before us.
- We are a body united already by Jesus and his commission so we need to claim onto God’s truth and encourage one another to continue to strive after Jesus.
