John C. Kim, Ph.D. President/Founder

Dr. John Kim is the Founder and President of Jesus Awakening Movement for America/All Nations (JAMA) and Global Leadership Development Institute (GLDI). Upon God’s calling to bring awakening and healing for America and all nations for Christ, he dedicated his life to raise up young men and women as Christ’s ambassadors for America’s awakening to Jesus and her revival through prayers of repentance. He has spoken to hundreds of thousands in the emerging generation and countless numbers of churches throughout the U.S. and more than 50 nations. He has been training, equipping and raising up a select number of the best young men and women to be Spirit-filled, competent, powerful leaders (servants) for transforming the nation and the world for Christ.

Upon his retirement in May 2009, Dr. Kim was awarded Professor Emeritus at California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) after 37 years of full-time professorship. He served as the Founding Director and Senior Professor of International Business and Management for the School of Business at CSUMB. He has also taught at Pepperdine University, where he was awarded Most Outstanding Faculty of the Year (Spring, 1976), and the University of Alaska, Anchorage, where he was awarded as the first recipient of the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching (October 1984), and received the Edith R. Bullock’s Award for Excellence, the highest honor given by the University of Alaska Statewide System. He was also awarded as Distinguished Professor of the University (1992).

Dr. Kim served as Special Advisor to the Governor of Alaska (Governors Sheffield, Cowper, and Hickel) for economic development and international trade for 12 years. He has published numerous books and articles including Crisis Management, Energy Resources Development: Politics and Policies, and Why Me? (a Korean best-seller).

He is married to the love of his life, Sarah. He and his wife have two grown children, Sharon and Paul, and four grandchildren, Mark, Grace, Noelle, and Lucy.
