California Reunion - Daniel Song (Class of ‘08)

Hi GLDI family,

I think coming to this reunion in California, I was one of the most skeptical of them all. I thought GLDI was a dead vision and that God wasn’t really behind it. I was so disgusted with my own pride and ambition getting involved with the vision of Jesus Globalization that I wanted to give it all up, believing that that would be most pleasing to God. I came with the motivation of giving GLDI one last chance and if I found out it was all a hoax, I was going to give it up.

But I was very touched and changed in heart by what I experienced. I realized that Jesus Globalization was not man’s dream or ambition, but it was God’s dream, God’s heart for the world: that one day all nations, every tribe and tongue would proclaim that Jesus is Lord! I came to the reunion willing to give up Jesus Globalization. But I was convicted that if we come humbly for God, only wanting to glorify God as the sole motivation of our hearts, then God is eager to use us for this cause.

I was touched by the humility of my brothers and sisters at the reunion. I genuinely saw in their hearts that they weren’t out for selfish ambition like I had been but that their true motivation was to glorify God and expand His kingdom. How encouraging these brothers and sisters were!

Instead of going back to my church with a presumptuous attitude of changing everything, I want to be a blessing to that church and love the people there. Jesus Globalization is God’s heart for His church and for this dying world. I am set on going to my church and not talking about Jesus Globalization, but living out Jesus Globalization with a true heart and a servant attitude.

I love you all and I will be praying for us all, that we might really live out God’s dream with God’s heart for the church and for the world.
